We put together a short list of döner kebab joints for you to taste in the döner kebab Meca that is Berlin.
To know about the history of the döner kebab, the delicious Turkish-Berliner food-to-go, check out our talk at the end of the post.
Reichenberger Str. 175, 10999 Berlin
This is the place. This joint has good quality, fresh ingredients, homemade sauces, nice staff, bathroom and free wi-fi. Most importantly, it also has tables which makes life much easier when eating a monstrosity like a döner kebab. It also offers a veggie and a vegan version for the non-meat lovers plus a secret recipe falafel.
Wichertstr corner with Schönhauser Allee 0, 10439 Berlin
It offers extra Turkish cheese AND has the option of whole bread. What else can you ask for? Okay, the chicken is known to be pretty good, too. Yes, the kebab here is chicken. It also offers many vegetarian options like the dürüm gemüse kebab, halloumi and the vegi kebab.
Mehringdamm 32, 10961 Berlin
This place is maybe the most delicious of all and known for its veggie kebab. It has a big problem though: it is super famous and you can expect to be in line for at least half an hour. If you are lucky. Very lucky. It is a truck outside of Mehringdamm Ubahn station so there are no sitting place either. It is worth it, just don’t go if you are already starving or you will die in line.
