Episode 34: The Oberbaumbrücke

Oberbaumbrücke, 10243 Berlin

  • 28 meters high
  • 124 meters long

People know it from the movies The Bourne Supremacy and Run Lola Run, but living or hanging out in Berlin you have definitely crossed the Oberaumbrücke yourself at some point.

This bridge connects the party poles of the neighborhoods of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. When crossing it, look up. You will see a light installation by Thorsten Goldberg. The Stein-Papier-Schere (rock-paper-scissors) piece has been there since 1997 and it represents the randomness of how political decisions that affect real people are made.
