Am Köllnischen Park 5, 10179 Berlin
- Designed by Ludwig Hoffman
- First private museum of Prussia in Berlin
- Six different buildings in one
- Two court yards
The Märkisches Museum is incredibly cool. Before entering the building, you should look around and look up. Why? Because the place’s six buildings are inspired in different sites around Berlin that represent the styles between Gothic and Renaissance. Isn’t that cool?
The Märkisches Museum permanent exhibition tells visitors about the history and development of Berlin and its districts. You also get to see cool artifacts from old school Berlin, like the horse head of the original Brandenburg Gate’s quadriga. This is a really cool museum for anyone living in the city and every first Wednesday of the month is free!
